Terms of Service
Platform terms for accounts, marketplace conduct, payments, IP, suspension, liability and governing law.
Last updated: 25 June 2026
1. Who these terms apply to
These Terms of Service apply when you access or use deployed.works.
In these terms:
- Platform means deployed.works.
- Capability Provider means an individual or organisation offering professional capability through the Platform.
- Capability Consumer means an individual or organisation seeking capability through the Platform.
- User means any person or organisation using the Platform.
- Content means profiles, listings, messages, documents, images, links and other material submitted to the Platform.
2. What the Platform does
The Platform helps Capability Consumers discover, assess and contact Capability Providers.
The Platform is not a party to contracts formed between Users unless we expressly say otherwise in writing.
The Platform does not make hiring decisions, employment decisions, tax decisions, immigration decisions or legal decisions for Users.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a contract.
If you use the Platform for an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to act for that organisation.
We may refuse, suspend or remove access where we reasonably believe a User is not eligible, is misusing the Platform, or creates legal, security or trust risk.
4. Accounts
You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date.
You are responsible for:
- keeping your login details secure;
- activity on your account;
- telling us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access;
- using multi-factor authentication where offered or required.
You must not create fake accounts, share accounts without permission, or use another person's account.
5. Acceptable use
You must use the Platform lawfully and responsibly.
You must not:
- misrepresent your identity, organisation, capability or opportunity;
- post fake, misleading or unlawful content;
- use the Platform for spam, scraping, phishing, malware, fraud or automated abuse;
- harass, threaten, abuse or discriminate against anyone;
- bypass security, rate limits, moderation or access controls;
- use the Platform to breach sanctions, export controls or other legal restrictions.
More detailed rules are set out in the Acceptable Use Policy.
6. Capability Providers
Capability Providers are responsible for ensuring that profiles, credentials, experience, availability, rates and examples of work are truthful and not misleading.
Capability Providers must only offer capability they are able and allowed to provide.
Where a Capability Provider acts through a company, agency, team, AI-enabled service or other organisation, they must make that clear where it matters to a Capability Consumer's decision.
7. Capability Consumers
Capability Consumers are responsible for ensuring that briefs, opportunities, budget information, requirements and communications are genuine, lawful and not misleading.
Capability Consumers remain responsible for:
- deciding who or what to engage;
- checking suitability, qualifications, references and right to work or operate where relevant;
- complying with employment, tax, immigration, procurement and sector-specific obligations;
- putting appropriate contracts in place with Capability Providers.
8. Employment status and legal compliance
The Platform does not determine employment status.
In the UK, employment status can affect rights and responsibilities, and status for employment law may differ from status for tax law. Users should take their own advice where needed.
Nothing on the Platform should be treated as legal, tax, immigration, accounting or employment advice.
9. Subscriptions, fees and payments
Some Platform features may be free. Others may require payment, subscription or usage-based fees.
Where paid services are offered, the price, billing period and key payment terms will be shown before purchase.
Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers such as Stripe. Those providers may apply their own terms and privacy notices.
Unless stated otherwise, fees are exclusive of taxes. Users are responsible for any taxes that apply to their own transactions or activities.
10. Intellectual property
We own or license the Platform, including its software, design, branding, text, data structures and operating model.
You must not copy, reverse engineer, scrape, resell or misuse the Platform except as allowed by law or by written permission.
You keep ownership of Content you submit. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, display, process and use that Content as needed to operate, secure, improve and promote the Platform.
You must only upload Content that you have the right to use.
11. Recommendations, search and AI assistance
The Platform may use search, ranking, matching, automation or AI-assisted tools to help Users find relevant capability or opportunities.
These tools are assistive only. They do not make hiring decisions or final engagement decisions.
Users remain responsible for their own decisions, checks and contracts.
12. Disclaimers
The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
We do not guarantee that:
- any User will find work, capability, clients or revenue;
- any profile, brief, listing or message is accurate;
- the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free;
- any match, ranking or recommendation will be suitable.
We do not endorse any User unless we expressly say so.
13. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect, consequential or special loss, loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of business, loss of goodwill, loss of data, or disputes between Users.
Our total liability for claims relating to the Platform will be limited to the greater of:
- the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim; or
- GBP 100.
This section should be reviewed by a solicitor before production use.
14. Suspension and moderation
We may remove content, restrict features, suspend accounts or terminate access where we reasonably believe this is needed to protect Users, the Platform, legal compliance, security or trust.
Where appropriate, we may explain the reason and allow an appeal or review. We may not do so where it would create security, legal, fraud or abuse risk.
15. Termination
You may stop using the Platform at any time.
We may terminate or suspend access if you breach these terms, create risk, or if we discontinue the Platform or a feature.
Sections intended to survive termination will continue, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, payment obligations, audit rights and governing law.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Platform changes.
Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify Users, such as by posting a notice on the Platform or emailing account holders.
Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
17. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
The courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer law requires otherwise.
